GTA Tent Rentals:  Your Complete Guide to the Perfect Outdoor Event

There’s something truly special about an outdoor event in the GTA. The open air, the beautiful scenery—it’s a recipe for unforgettable memories. But it also comes with a big question: what about the weather?

That’s where our event solutions do more than just provide shelter; they create your venue. A tent is the blank canvas for your perfect tent event. It’s a blank canvas that transforms your backyard, park, or open space into an elegant, comfortable, and weather-proof setting for your guests.

Choosing the right tent can feel like a huge decision, but it doesn’t have to be complicated. With over 30 years of experience, we’ve put together this guide to walk you through everything you need to know, from picking the right size to planning your layout, so you can choose your tent with total confidence.

How to Choose the Perfect Tent for Your GTA Event

Before you even look at styles, let’s answer the three most important questions. Getting these right will make the rest of your planning a breeze.

First, What Kind of Event Are You  Hosting?

The “vibe” of your event is the best place to start. The right tent will not only fit your guests but also your theme.

For  Weddings & Galas:

For a beautiful outdoor wedding or elegant gala, you need a venue that feels both grand and intimate. A High Peak Marquee Tent creates a stunning, formal atmosphere with high ceilings perfect for lighting and decor. It makes a grand statement.

For  Backyard Parties & BBQs:

The focus is on casual comfort and reliable shelter. A sturdy Pop-up / Canopy Tent is perfect for creating a shaded area for food, a bar, or guest seating.

For  Corporate Events & Festivals:

Functionality is key. You might need a large marquee for a main presentation or several smaller canopies for vendor booths or registration areas.

Next, How Many Guests Are You  Expecting?

The most common question we get is, “What size tent do I need?” While it depends on your layout, here’s a simple cheat sheet to get you started. For a more detailed breakdown, be sure to check out our Tent Rentals Size Guide.

Pro Tip: Always go a little bigger if you need space for a dance floor, buffet tables, a DJ, or a bar area.

Finally, Where Will the Tent Be  Set Up?

The surface determines how we secure your tent to keep it safe.

Grass or Soft  Ground:

This is the ideal surface. We use long, heavy-duty stakes driven deep into the ground for maximum security.

Pavement, Driveways, or  Concrete:

No problem! We can’t use stakes here, so we use heavy concrete weights or water barrels to anchor the tent securely and safely.

Frequently Asked  Questions

What size tent do I need for 100 guests?

For 100 guests, we typically recommend the following options:

  • 40×40 or 20×80 is ideal if you’d like to accommodate seating, a dance floor, and a buffet area.
  • 20×60 or 30×40 is a good size if you don’t plan to include a dance floor.

To take all the guesswork out of it, we’ve put together a super helpful guide. It has charts and a calculator to help you figure out the perfect size for your specific needs.

Pricing depends on the size of the tent and any accessories you add. Here are some general ranges:

  • Weddings with 60-120 guests: $1,500 to $3,500
  • Weddings with 120-300 guests: $3,000 to $7,000

Weddings with 300+ guests: $5,000 to $20,000

The final price really comes down to three things: The Tent: Its size and style. The Extras: Things like flooring, a dance floor, lighting, walls, and heaters. The Logistics: Delivery, the amount of work to set it up, and how complex your location is. To help you budget and see exactly where the money goes, we created a clear, detailed guide with sample packages. We highly recommend giving it a read!

Our tents provide reliable protection from rain and sun, and sidewalls can be added for extra shelter. However, tents do have limitations in high winds. In windy conditions, we recommend keeping sidewalls open, as closing them can create a “balloon” effect that increases uplift and instability. If winds exceed 35 km/hr, we strongly advise evacuating the tent for safety.

Yes. We provide basic flooring as well as dance floors, along with string globe lighting.

This depends on the size and type of your event, but we recommend booking at least 2 months in advance to secure your preferred size and accessories.

Tents can be installed on most surfaces, including grass, gravel, asphalt, and concrete. However, we do not set them up on wooden decks (to avoid damage) and do not recommend setting them up on surfaces with slopes greater than 2 inches.

Depending on the location, a permit may be required. We recommend contacting the municipality where the tent will be set up. You can obtain the permit yourself, and we’ll provide the necessary drawings and specifications, or we can handle it for you at an additional cost.

Yes, we can. Instead of stakes, we use concrete weights or water barrels (if there’s access to water on-site) to secure the tent.
